Medical Director

Mark S. Banov, MD, MPH, FASAM, FACPM serves as Medical Director of WellStep Atlanta. He is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Banov studied Addiction Medicine at the Harvard University School of Public Health, where he received a Master of Public Health degree. He serves as a Physician Investigator for FDA regulated research trials on new treatments for opiate dependence, alcoholism, depression, attention deficit disorder, and anxiety disorder

Dr. Banov was selected to participate in the Professionals in Residence program at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California and completed the program in 2011.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Medical Association of Atlanta.

Dr. Banov was named a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine in 2016.
